When compiling their new book, Amazing Animals, Guinness World Records searched the globe for the most interesting and unique beasts: the largest, the deadliest, the rarest and of course, the ones we love the most: the fluffiest.
It was therefore only natural that we launched the new books with a Fluffytorium – a pop up beacon of fur in collaboration with our friends at Hope & Glory – to honour those super furry animals. The pop up space in Soho was decked out from floor to ceiling in fur. Guests were invited to sit on fluffy chairs and have a cuddle with a range of exquisitely fluffy cats and dogs, from Yogi the Chow Chow to Venice the Poodle and Perla the Persian.
Over 5,000 Londoners applied to attend the event that ran over three fur-filled days in the designed-for-Instagram space, that offered awesome photo opportunities such as sitting in a man-sized fur-covered dog kennel, in homage to Zeus, the largest dog in the world.
The event generated substantial media attention with coverage in the Mail Online, The Guardian, Time Out, Metro, ITV, plus captured the hearts of the British public who viewed and shared articles and video content across social media in their thousands.
